Foundation of the Six Pack Ab Diet

Use this Guide as a Base for your Diet.

It is common knowledge that in order to obtain a good shape and have a healthy body, proper nutrition and physical activity are required. What is less well known is what needs to be done to maintain such a figure. Here we will focus on the first step that everyone knows exists but people have many beliefs on how to get six pack abs. In 3 months you can get a flat stomach and, with the right abs plan, you can get a ripped six pack in six months.

The key to reaching your goal of six pack abs in six months is through a diet that keeps your metabolism running at an optimal level. Your metabolism is the process (made up of hormones produced by the thyroid gland) that tells your body what pace to operate at. The metabolism tells your cells how fast to operate and when to produce new cells. For the purpose of gaining six pack abs, we are focused on what rate and how efficiently your body processes carlories. (Both from the calories you consume through eating and the calories you burn off through exercise.) Contrary to popular belief, you can change your metabolic rate.

The first thing you will want to do is make sure your body is supplied with a steady supply of quality caloric energy. One of the most popular methods, and a good one at that, is to switch from 3 large meals a day to 6 smaller meals a day. This will prevent valleys and peaks in your blood sugar and will discourage overstuffing yourself at any one feeding time. In addition to changing how often you eat, you will want to cut out low-quality foods. These foods are often high in calories but offer little nutrition and do not keep you full. Some of these foods include:

1. White Flour (white bread, white pasta)
2. Corn Syrup
3. Soda
4. Candy
5. White Sugar
6. Snack Chips
7. “Fake” food (fake sugar, fake cheese, etc)

In general, the further a food is away from its natural state, the less wholesome it is. For example, a whole apple is much more nutritious than apple juice or apple sauce. Here are a few foodstuffs that are good for you:

1. Lean meat like Fish or Chicken
2. Other Proteins (Nuts, Eggs, Legumes)
3. Vegetables and Fruits
4. Whole Grains
5. Water

To stick to a strict diet where no processed or refined foods are eaten is the most ideal, though it would be a very difficult feat. A much better approach is to enjoy some of your favorite “junk foods” as a special treat. Just remember, the closer you stick to a whole foods diet, and the less junky food you eat, the sooner you can obtain six pack abs. One of the best tricks to do this is to limit your access to junk food. Do not stock them in your home, not even hidden away. If you tend you eat your junk food out of the home, like through fast food or vending machines, try giving yourself a junk food monthly allowance. This way, you will be forced to only hit up your favorite fast food place a very limited number of times and you will be much more conscious about the money you spend on junk food. There are little steps you can take to incorporate more whole foods in your diet and tricks you can employ to discourage yourself from consuming junk food.
