The Formula for Six Pack Abs

Don’t worry, there isn’t too much math involved!

It is quite understandable that finding the right ab workout is very frustrating for most people. There are tradition exercises and new ones, there are ones that require no equipment and ones that require special machines, there are ones marketed towards different genders and different age groups, it is quite confusing indeed. Many people keep trying new combinations with no results and get very discouraged because it seems like no combination of moves are giving them six pack abs.

While it is generally believed that the best method is to combine hours and hours of boring cardio with traditional moves like crunches and sit-ups, it may surprise you to know that this is not a good method for obtaining six pack abs.

Nothing may perhaps be further than from the reality. The above method involves just blindly believing that working hard will pay off, if that were the case, there would be a lot more millionaires walking around. You will need to work hard at getting six pack abs, but the best thing you can do for yourself in the begining is to educate yourself and get a full understanding of what it takes to get rock hard abs before you dive in. Think of it as taking the class first and then the test so that you can get an A+ instead of just throwing yourself at the test and hoping that if you write the longest essay, you will get a good grade.

Thankfully, this education doesn’t involve rocket science, just a solid understanding of how the body can change itself. The most basic part of the formula is to combine fat burning cardio with muscle toning strength exercise while burning off more calories than you consume. To go into more detail, plan on 30-40 minutes of cardio, at least 3 times per week. This can be any activity that gets your heart rate up consistently (no starting and stopping). You will want to alternate with 3 days of strength training, this is the trickier part of the workout portion because there are so many different moves and combinations and therefore so many ways to get it wrong. (Or to get it kind of right but to waste a lot of time and energy, this is where the education part comes in handy.) Also having a comprehensive and easy to stick to diet laid out helps most people make eating a wholesome part of their lifestyle. You may think this would be too limiting, but once you see a complete list of everything that you can eat, you will feel liberated and see options, not limitations.
